Lovely Days Out
Come and join me on my travels
Osterley park is a spectacular mansion surrounded by gardens, park and farmland, Osterley is one of the last surviving country estates in London. It is owned by the National Trust and open to the public. Osterley was created in the late 18th century by architect and designer Robert Adam for the Child family to entertain and impress their friends and clients. The original building on this site was a manor house built in the 1570s for banker Sir Thomas Gresham, who purchased the manor of Osterley in 1562. The house was complete in 1576. It is known that Queen Elizabeth I visited. The stable block from this period remains at Osterley Park. Tour the house walk round the lake and enjoy the beautiful gardens. Have a cuppa in the cafe, a splendid day out.
